natural conditions Wind conditions: In winter, west and northwest winds are dominant, followed by north winds, with an average wind force of 3 levels. When a cold wave strikes, the wind force can reach 8 levels, and the wind direction is mostly northeast. In summer, south winds are dominant, followed by southeast and southwest winds. From March to May, there are often southwest winds of 5-6 levels, with the highest reaching 8 levels. Affected by typhoons about 1-2 times a year, with a maximum wind force of 10. When there are northeast and southeast winds of 5-6 levels, large waves appear in the harbor. Precipitation: The annual average precipitation is 793.5 millimeters, the maximum precipitation is 1192.7 millimeters, and the daily maximum precipitation is 370.8 millimeters. Fog conditions: The average annual foggy days are 16 days, with the most foggy days occurring in July. Temperature: The annual average temperature is 12.1 ℃, with the hottest month being August, with an average temperature of 24.6 ℃ and an extreme temperature of 38.4 ℃; The coldest month is January, with an average temperature of -1.5 ℃ and an extreme minimum temperature of -13.8 ℃. Ice condition: Not frozen all year round. Tide: The tidal type of Weihai Port is irregular semi diurnal tide, with a highest tide level of 2.9 meters, a lowest tide level of -0.76 meters, an average tide level of 1.2 meters, an average high tide level of 1.9 meters, and an average low tide level of 0.55 meters. The average tidal range is 1.35 meters; The maximum tidal range is 1.73 meters and the minimum tidal range is 0.70 meters. Tide: Outside the port, the rising tide flows westward and the falling tide flows eastward, with a flow rate of 2.3 knots. When the tide rises, the current passes through the Dahong at the eastern end of Liugong Island, splits into two branches, flows on the north and south sides of Liugong Island respectively, and converges near Yashi Island at the north entrance; When the tide falls, it splits near Yashi Island and merges near Dahong. The general diversion time is 0.5-2.0 hours before the high and low tide of Weihai Port. Tides are greatly influenced by wind. When encountering strong east or southeast winds, they flow westward all day long, while when encountering strong northwest winds, they flow eastward all day long. Wave: According to recent observations of waves in Xingang District, the strong wave direction and the constant wave direction are NNW, accounting for 10.35% of the frequency, with a maximum wave height of 3.41 meters, a wave direction of N, and a maximum period of 8 seconds. Navigation assistance information Channel: The navigation channel in Laogang District is 2800 meters long, 80 meters wide, 9.5 meters deep, and 11 meters deep when taking the tide. The heading for entering and exiting is 270 °/090 °; The navigation channel in Xingang District is 4800 meters long, 550 meters wide, with a water depth of 9.3 meters and a tidal depth of 10.50 meters. The heading for entering and exiting is 228 °/048 °. Anchorage: A transshipment anchorage with a water depth of 19 meters and an area of 1.6265 million square meters, capable of accommodating two 20000 ton ships simultaneously. Port nature: Gulf Port Longitude and latitude: 37 ° 30'N, 122 ° 07'E Located on the northeast coast of Shandong Peninsula in eastern China (full name: THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA), adjacent to the northwest side of Weihai Bay, facing Dalian Port across the sea to the north, 93n miles away, and 47n miles west of Yantai Port, it is one of the main ports in Shandong Province. Since the 1960s, the port has undergone renovation and expansion. In April 1985, it was officially opened to the outside world with the approval of the State Council. Since then, it has strengthened its connections with ports such as Yantai, Qingdao, Dalian, and Shanghai, gradually developing into a port city with a certain foundation in textile, clothing, food, machinery manufacturing, rubber products, and rural products, and a relatively developed cultural and educational industry. At present, the port has become a window and gateway for Weihai City to develop an outward oriented economy. The coal, wood, fertilizers, and most industrial raw materials needed by Weihai region every year are transported through the port. At the same time, more than 70% of the industrial products and local specialties in the hinterland are shipped out through the port, especially Weihai City, which has abundant seafood and mineral resources. With the construction of the high-tech development zone, the future development of the port has become an indispensable condition for strengthening the outward oriented economy. The port has a temperate monsoon climate, with prevailing westerly winds. There will be typhoon impacts between July and September. The annual average temperature is 12 ℃, with the highest reaching 37 ℃ and the lowest reaching -15 ℃. There are 20 foggy days every year, with the most in July. The average annual rainfall is about 800mm, with rainfall concentrated in July and August. It belongs to an irregular semi diurnal tidal port, with a high tide rise of 2.03m and a low tide rise of 1.78m. To the east of Hong Kong, there is Liu Gong Island as a barrier, which is a natural harbor. There are mainly two bulk cargo berths in the port area, with a shoreline length of 387m and a maximum water depth of 11m, capable of accommodating ships of tens of thousands of tons. The maximum lifting capacity of the loading and unloading equipment is 24 tons, and the barge can carry up to 450 tons. The area of the port warehouse is 45000 m ∧<2>. The transshipment anchorage can accommodate two ships of 20000 deadweight tons at the same time. In 1994, the cargo throughput reached 2.95 million tons, an increase of 13% in 1993. The container throughput was 16000 TEUs, an increase of 23.1% compared to 1993. The main imported goods include cement, coal, stone, textile industry products, fertilizers, rubber products, wood, seafood, and miscellaneous goods. The port has established shipping relations with countries and regions such as Japan, North Korea, South Korea, Singapore, Western Europe, and Hong Kong, playing a significant role in attracting foreign investment, strengthening external exchanges, and expanding the international market in Weihai. Statutory holidays include New Year's Day, Labor Day, National Day (October 1-2), and Spring Festival (January 1-3 in the lunar calendar).
