Port Introduction

The Port of Yantai is located in Yantai City, Shandong Province, China. It is situated in the northeast of the Shandong Peninsula, at the intersection of the Bohai Bay and the Yellow Sea. It is a national first-class open port and one of the major coastal ports in China. The port standard code is CNYNT, jointly managed by Qingdao Customs (Yantai Customs), Shandong Maritime Bureau (Yantai Maritime Bureau), Yantai Transportation Bureau and other units, mainly operated by Shandong Port Group Yantai Port Group Co., Ltd. Yantai Port has superior natural deep-water harbor conditions and is one of the closest coastal ports in China to Japan and South Korea. It is also an important international shipping node connecting Northeast Asia and the Bohai Rim Economic Circle. The port relies on the geographical advantages of the Shandong Peninsula and maintains efficient connectivity with the Shandong Peninsula, Beijing Tianjin Hebei, and the Yellow River Basin through comprehensive transportation networks such as the Rongwu Expressway, Shenhai Expressway, Lanyan Railway, and Longyan Railway. It is an important comprehensive international trade port and logistics hub in Shandong Province. After years of development, Yantai Port has formed a coordinated layout of ports such as Zhifu Bay Port Area, Xigang Area, Longkou Port Area, and Penglai Port Area. Among them, Xigang District is a modern deep-water port area, which focuses on the transportation of bulk cargo such as crude oil, iron ore, coal, LNG, and has built large-scale liquid chemical and energy terminals; The Zhifu Bay Port Area mainly develops container, passenger roll on/roll off transportation, and general cargo business, and is an important base for traditional port areas in Yantai and passenger and freight transportation between China and South Korea; Penglai Port Area is characterized by passenger roll on/roll off transportation, tourist passenger transportation, and bulk cargo transportation; Longkou Port Area focuses on serving the development of coal, ore, grain, and port related industries, jointly building a modern port system with complete functions. Yantai Port is an important commodity vehicle roll on/roll off transportation base in northern China and a maritime passenger and freight transportation center between China and South Korea. It has a leading commodity vehicle roll on/roll off terminal and international passenger and freight liner routes in the country. The port has comprehensive service capabilities such as container transportation, liquid chemical industry, grain, ore, coal, major equipment, and bonded logistics, supporting modern port and shipping services such as bonded warehousing, international transit, and supply chain logistics, providing logistics support for industries such as automobile manufacturing, high-end equipment, petrochemicals, and grain and oil processing. In terms of route layout, Yantai Port has formed an international shipping network covering the world. The port has opened container, passenger, roll on/roll off, and general cargo routes to Northeast Asian countries such as South Korea and Japan, and maintains stable international shipping connections with Southeast Asia, Europe, America, and other regions. At the same time, through the coordinated development of internal branch transportation and domestic hub ports such as Qingdao Port and Shanghai Port, the international transit system will be further improved. Relying on the linkage of railways, highways, and ports, Yantai Port actively promotes the construction of sea rail intermodal transportation and multimodal transportation, continuously improving the regional logistics distribution capacity. In recent years, Yantai Port has continuously promoted the construction of smart and green ports, accelerated the construction of automated terminals, digital scheduling, intelligent logistics, and port and shipping information platforms, and continuously improved the operational efficiency and service level of the port. Relying on the integrated operation advantages of Shandong Port Group, the Yantai area of Shandong Pilot Free Trade Zone and the opportunities of RCEP policy, Yantai Port has developed into an important comprehensive international deep-water seaport in northern China, and also an important international shipping hub connecting Northeast Asia, serving the Bohai Economic Circle and the construction of the "the Belt and Road".
