ZHANJIANG

The Port of Zhanjiang is located in Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province, China. It is situated in the northeast of the Leizhou Peninsula, at the intersection of the Beibu Gulf of the South China Sea and the Qiongzhou Strait. It is a national first-class open port and one of the major coastal ports in China. The port standard code is CNZNG, jointly managed by Zhanjiang Customs, Guangdong Maritime Safety Administration (Zhanjiang Maritime Safety Administration), and Zhanjiang Transportation Bureau. It is mainly operated by Zhanjiang Port (Group) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Guangdong Port and Shipping Group. Zhanjiang Port has natural deep-water port conditions and is an important gateway for China's shipping routes to Southeast Asia, South Asia, and the Indian Ocean. It is also one of the most convenient coastal ports in the southwest region. The port relies on the geographical advantages of western Guangdong and maintains close connections with Guangdong, Guangxi, and the southwest region through the Lanhai Expressway, Shenhai Expressway, Lizhan Railway, Luozhan Railway, and Shugang Railway network. It is an important logistics node for the western land sea new channel and the westward radiation of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. After years of construction, Zhanjiang Port has formed a port layout for coordinated development of port areas such as Donghai Island Port, Xiashan Port, Baoman Port, and Xuwen Port. Among them, Donghai Island Port Area relies on deep-water channels and large berths, focusing on the development of iron ore, coal, crude oil, liquefied natural gas (LNG), container and heavy cargo transportation, and serving large port industries such as Baosteel Zhanjiang Iron and Steel and Zhongke Refining and Chemical; Xiashan Port Area is a traditional comprehensive port area that undertakes container, general cargo, and passenger transportation businesses; Baoman Port mainly develops grain, bulk cargo, and energy transportation; Xuwen Port Area is characterized by passenger roll on/roll off transportation and vehicle roll on/roll off business in the Qiongzhou Strait, and is one of the most important maritime transportation nodes between Guangdong and Hainan. As an important deep-water port in southern China, Zhanjiang Port has comprehensive functions such as container, bulk cargo, liquid bulk cargo, commodity vehicle roll on/roll off, energy transportation, bonded logistics, and modern supply chain services. The port focuses on serving industries such as steel, petrochemicals, energy, grain and oil processing, new materials, and equipment manufacturing, providing important logistics support for industrial development in western and southwestern Guangdong. In terms of route network, Zhanjiang Port has formed an international shipping network covering domestic coastal areas, Southeast Asia, Japan and South Korea, the Middle East, Africa, Europe and America. The port has opened multiple international container and bulk cargo routes and maintains close cooperation with ports such as Guangzhou Port, Shenzhen Port, and Hainan Yangpu Port. At the same time, relying on the Western Land Sea New Corridor and the railway collection and distribution system, actively developing multimodal transport modes such as sea rail intermodal transport and open sea intermodal transport, further enhancing the logistics radiation capability to the southwestern hinterland of Guangxi, Guizhou, Yunnan, and Sichuan. In recent years, Zhanjiang Port has continuously promoted the upgrading of deep-water channels, the construction of smart ports and green ports, and continuously improved its automated terminals, intelligent logistics platforms, and port and shipping information systems, resulting in a continuous enhancement of its comprehensive service capabilities. Relying on the advantages of natural deep-water ports, the construction of new land sea channels in the western region, and the development opportunities of the Guangdong coastal economic belt, Zhanjiang Port has developed into an important international deep-water port in southern China. It is also an important comprehensive port connecting the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, the southwestern region, ASEAN, and the global shipping network.
