The main industries include light industry, food, textile, clothing, electronics, instruments, handicrafts, chemicals, machinery and building materials, among which the famous barber scissors, mastlights, Pickled vegetables, food cans, lacquerware, jade carvings, colored lights, Paper Cuttings, and children's toys have certain characteristics, which are sold well at home and abroad and are well received by users. The port has a subtropical monsoon climate with prevailing easterly winds. The annual average temperature is about 15 ℃, with the highest reaching 39 ℃ and the lowest reaching -17 ℃. There are 38 foggy days in the year, with the majority from October to December. The average annual rainfall is about 1000mm. It is an irregular semi diurnal tidal port with an average tidal height of 8.8m for high tide and 1.2m for low tide. There is a 10000 ton floating dock in the port area, which is 150 meters long and has a mooring line at a distance of about 25 meters upstream and downstream. It can accommodate ships with a maximum load capacity of 15000 tons. The loading and unloading equipment includes shore cranes and belt conveyors. There are no tugboats in Hong Kong. A small number of 20 foot containers have been shipped from Yangzhou to Hong Kong for transit to other countries. In October 1993, a South Korean cargo ship with a load capacity of 12000 tons successfully arrived at Yangzhou Port and completed the loading and unloading tasks. The annual cargo throughput capacity of Hong Kong is about 1 million tons. The main import and export goods are coal, grain, handicrafts, and building materials. Statutory holidays include New Year's Day, Labor Day, National Day (October 1-2), and Spring Festival (January 1-3 in the lunar calendar).
