Yichang Port is located in Yichang City, Hubei Province, China. It is a national first-class open port and an important hub port connecting the upper and middle reaches of the Yangtze River's golden waterway. The port, relying on the Three Gorges Project and the Gezhouba Project, has formed a unique geographical advantage. When the passage of the Three Gorges ship lock is restricted or the waiting time is long, the goods can be quickly transferred through the "Maoping Port (on the dam) - road/railway transportation - Baiyang Port (under the dam)" dam flipping mode, effectively bypassing the bottleneck of the ship lock, improving transportation efficiency, and ensuring smooth logistics in the Yangtze River. This mode has become an important part of the Yangtze River shipping system, and it is also the core competitive advantage of Yichang Port Area compared with other inland ports. In terms of route layout, Yichang Port relies on the Yangtze River waterway to form a nationwide river sea intermodal network.
