Port Introduction

Port management agencies: Qinhuangdao Customs, Hebei Maritime Safety Administration (Qinhuangdao Maritime Safety Administration), Hebei Port and Shipping Administration Terminal operator: Qinhuangdao Port Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Hebei Port Group Co., Ltd Port Area Address: Coastal Area, Haigang District, Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province, China Port attributes: Large comprehensive deep-water port, national coal transportation hub, with comprehensive operational capabilities for coal, ore, oil products, containers, and general cargo. Comprehensive Overview of the Port Qinhuangdao Port is located on the west coast of Bohai Bay in the northeast of Hebei Province. It is one of the earliest important ports opened to the outside world in China, as well as the largest coal discharge port and an important component of the national energy transportation system. The port relies on excellent natural deep-water shorelines and complete port facilities, and has long undertaken the important transportation task of "transporting coal from the north to the south". It has an important strategic position in the national energy supply guarantee and bulk commodity logistics system. The port area is backed by energy production bases such as North China, Northeast China, and Inner Mongolia, and is connected to energy consumption markets such as the Bohai Rim Economic Circle, the Yangtze River Delta, and the Pearl River Delta. Through the combination of railways, highways, and sea transportation, it forms an important comprehensive transportation network covering the whole country. In addition to coal transportation, Qinhuangdao Port has continuously expanded its business in ore, steel, grain, oil, chemical and container industries in recent years, gradually developing into a modern comprehensive port. Core facilities and functional layout Qinhuangdao Port has formed a port functional system characterized by coal transportation and coordinated development of multiple cargo types. The Coal Port Area has internationally leading large-scale dump truck systems, belt transportation systems, stacking and reclaiming equipment, and specialized coal loading berths, which can achieve automated operations throughout the entire process of railway arrival, yard storage and transportation, and ship loading. It is one of the largest coal loading bases in the world. In addition to the coal terminal, the port area has also built specialized terminals for ore, steel, general cargo, grain, oil products, and containers, and is equipped with modern warehousing and logistics, bonded warehouses, and information management systems, which can provide comprehensive services for cargo loading and unloading, warehousing, transit, distribution, and supply chain. The port continues to promote the construction of smart ports, continuously improving its comprehensive service capabilities in intelligent scheduling, green environmental protection, safety supervision, and digital operation. Airline routes and intermodal networks Qinhuangdao Port relies on a comprehensive sea rail intermodal transportation system to form an important logistics network covering the coastal areas of China and Northeast Asia. In terms of domestic transportation, ports are an important starting point for China's "North to South Coal Transport" maritime transportation channel. A large amount of coal is loaded onto ships through ports and transported to coastal energy consuming areas such as Shanghai, Ningbo Zhoushan, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen, providing stable energy security for the national power, steel, and chemical industries. In terms of railway transportation, the port is directly connected to the Daqin Railway, realizing the direct transportation of coal resources from energy bases such as Shanxi, Shaanxi, and Inner Mongolia to the port area, forming an efficient and high-capacity sea rail intermodal transportation system, which is a typical representative of China's heavy-duty railway and port intermodal transportation. At the same time, Qinhuangdao Port also operates near ocean routes to Japan, South Korea, and Southeast Asia, as well as a domestic container transportation network covering the Bohai Rim, Yangtze River Delta, and Pearl River Delta regions, providing logistics support for regional manufacturing and international trade. Comprehensive positioning As an important energy transportation port in China and a core port in the Bohai Rim region, Qinhuangdao Port has formed a comprehensive port pattern characterized by coal transportation and coordinated development of multiple cargo types, relying on natural deep-water port conditions, the advantages of heavy load transportation on the Daqin Railway, and a modern port operation system. Ports play an important role in ensuring national energy security, serving regional industrial development, and promoting the construction of a modern comprehensive logistics system. They are one of the important international shipping and logistics hubs in northern China.
