Basuo Port is located in Dongfang City, Hainan Province, and is one of the oldest modern ports on the west coast of Hainan Island. It is also a major port in China and an important gateway to the western part of Hainan Free Trade Port. The port relies on the Beibu Gulf shipping channel and the Hainan Western Industrial Corridor, undertaking important functions such as energy transportation, ore logistics, petrochemical industry support, and regional comprehensive logistics. The port was first built in the 1940s and has undergone multiple rounds of expansion since the reform and opening up. Laogang District (Integrated Freight Core) Laogang District is located near Fish Scale Island and is a traditional operating area of the Eight Ports. It has an ore terminal, a general cargo terminal, and a roll on/roll off berth, which can carry out iron ore, steel, cement, machinery and equipment, general cargo, and roll on/roll off transportation businesses. It is an important comprehensive freight port area in western Hainan. New Port Area (Energy and Chemical Base) Xingang District is located near the mouth of the Luodai River, with a dangerous goods liquid chemical terminal and a large coal dedicated terminal. It mainly serves the transportation of petrochemicals, liquid chemicals, power plant coal and energy, and is an important energy logistics base in western Hainan. Airline routes and intermodal networks Beibu Gulf Coastal Transport Network Eight ports have opened freight routes connecting coastal ports such as Zhanjiang Port, Haikou Port, Yangpu Port, Guangzhou Port, and Beihang Port, and are important nodes for transportation along the western coast of Hainan. International Shipping Network The port maintains freight connections with Southeast Asia and international markets, and foreign trade goods can reach multiple countries and regions such as Japan, Southeast Asia, Europe, and America. It is an important international trade port in western Hainan.
