Port Introduction

New Zealand commercial port. Located on the east coast of the country's North Island, east of the port city, facing Hawke's Bay in the South Pacific. 87 nautical miles north of Gisborne Port, 395 nautical miles south of Auckland Port, and 220 nautical miles south of Wellington. The port area is located in the concave part of the cape on the southwest coast of Hawke's Bay, with a breakwater that extends northwest from the east and then turns west. The docks in the port are concentrated around the harbor pool and on two protruding dikes that extend north from the south bank, with a total of 5 docks. From east to west, there is Pier 2, which is 487 meters long and 11.9 meters deep, used for loading and unloading operations of pulp, phosphate, oil, etc. The yard capacity on the dock is 109000 tons, and the warehouse is 32000 square meters. A dock, located on the shoreline between docks 2-3, has a dock line of 100 meters and a water depth of 6.7 meters, used for importing refined oil products. GEDDIS Pier, also known as Pier 3, has a berth line on the east side of 213 meters long and a water depth of 8.5 meters; The west berth is 229 meters long and has a water depth of 10.7 meters. It is used to berth ships loading and unloading groceries, and there is a 5300 square meter yard on the dock. HERRICK Pier No. 4, 246 meters long, with one berth on each side and a water depth of 10.7 meters, is used to berth ships loading and unloading roll on/roll off cargo and oil. The KIRKPATRICK wharf on the west bank of the harbor is 445 meters long and 11 meters deep, used for berthing, loading and unloading roll on/roll off cargo and oil. There are about ten deep-water berths in Hong Kong, mainly used for loading and unloading exported goods such as timber, leather, wool, lamb, dairy products, as well as imported goods such as oil products and industrial products.
