Comprehensive Overview of the Port The Port of Tangshan is located on the eastern coast of Hebei Province and the north bank of Bohai Bay. It is a national first-class open port and an important comprehensive hub port in the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region. Relying on superior deep-water coastline resources and vast hinterland markets, Tangshan Port has developed into one of the most important bulk cargo and energy transportation ports in northern China, ranking among the top in the national port cargo throughput rankings for a long time. The port is backed by the Beijing Tianjin Hebei urban agglomeration and important industrial bases in North China and Northwest China. It has a complete railway, highway, and port transportation system, and is an important logistics support platform for China's steel, energy, chemical, and equipment manufacturing industries. A large amount of imported iron ore, crude oil, coal, and energy products enter the inland market through Tangshan Port, while also undertaking important container and foreign trade cargo transportation tasks. Core facilities and functional layout Tangshan Port has formed a development pattern of "one port, two zones" with Caofeidian Port Area and Jingtang Port Area as the core. Among them, Caofeidian Port Area relies on the advantages of natural deep-water channels to focus on the development of iron ore, coal, crude oil, liquid chemical and liquefied natural gas (LNG) transportation businesses. It has large deep-water specialized berths and is an important energy and ore unloading base in northern China. Jingtang Port District focuses on developing container, steel, grain, general cargo, and comprehensive logistics businesses, with complete modern port service functions. Automated loading and unloading equipment, intelligent yard management systems, and environmentally friendly transportation facilities are widely used in the port area, and bonded logistics centers, warehousing parks, and comprehensive logistics platforms are built to provide customers with comprehensive services such as warehousing and distribution, freight forwarding, supply chain management, and multimodal transportation. Airline routes and intermodal networks Tangshan Port has a shipping network covering major trading regions both domestically and internationally. International air routes focus on connecting important resources and trade markets such as Australia, Brazil, the Middle East, Russia, and Southeast Asia, and are important gateways for China's imports of iron ore, energy products, and bulk raw materials. Container shipping routes cover near ocean markets such as Japan, South Korea, and Southeast Asia, and are connected to major ports worldwide through transit networks. In terms of regional coordination, Tangshan Port maintains close cooperation with ports around the Bohai Sea such as Tianjin Port and Qingdao Port, jointly building the Beijing Tianjin Hebei port cluster and the Bohai Sea shipping network, enhancing regional logistics efficiency and international competitiveness. Sea rail intermodal transportation is one of the most prominent core advantages of Tangshan Port. The port is closely connected to energy and industrial bases in Shanxi, Shaanxi, Inner Mongolia, and North China through important transportation channels such as the Daqin Railway, Tanghu Railway, and Qiancao Railway, achieving efficient transportation of coal from the north to the south, iron ore import distribution, and bulk goods, forming an important land sea intermodal transportation system covering the whole country. Comprehensive positioning With superior deep-water resource conditions, a complete specialized terminal system, strong bulk cargo transportation capabilities, and an efficient sea rail intermodal network, Tangshan Port has developed into an important energy and raw material transportation base and international logistics hub port in northern China. As an important port node for the coordinated development of Beijing Tianjin Hebei and the construction of the "the Belt and Road", Tangshan Port plays an important role in ensuring the supply of national energy resources, promoting regional economic development and improving international logistics service capacity.
