Port Introduction

Port Standard Code (UN/LOCODE): CNDSN Port management agencies: Xiamen Customs (Dongshan Customs), Fujian Maritime Bureau (Zhangzhou Maritime Bureau), Zhangzhou Port Management Department Terminal operator: Fujian Port Group Co., Ltd. and its affiliated Zhangzhou Port related enterprises Port Area Address: Dongshan County, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province, China (mainly covering Cheng'an Port Area and Tongling Port Area) Port attribute: Natural deepwater port (Seaport/Deep Water Port), equipped with comprehensive services for containers, cold chain logistics, bulk cargo, liquid chemicals, and passenger and cargo roll on/roll off. Comprehensive Overview of the Port The Port of Dongshan is located in Dongshan County, Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province. It is one of the important ports open to the outside world along the coast of Fujian and an important port node on the west coast of the Taiwan Strait. The port relies on the superior marine resources and location conditions of Dongshan Island, with the Taiwan Strait to the east, Xiamen Port to the north, and the eastern Guangdong region to the south. It plays an important role in the coastal port system of Fujian and Guangdong. As a regional comprehensive port, Dongshan Port undertakes functions such as aquatic product export, cold chain logistics, bulk cargo transportation, and regional industrial supporting logistics. The port, relying on abundant marine fishery resources and port industry foundation, has developed into an important aquatic cold chain logistics base and marine economic development platform in Fujian Province, playing an important role in serving the southeast coastal industrial chain and regional foreign trade development. Core facilities and functional layout Dongshan Port is mainly composed of Cheng'an Port Area and Tongling Port Area, forming a port pattern of coordinated development of freight, fishery, cold chain and passenger transportation. Cheng'an Port Area is the core freight operation area of the port, with deep-water berths, bulk cargo yards, and modern loading and unloading facilities. It mainly serves the needs of container transportation, building materials, glass industry materials, and bulk cargo logistics. Relying on the development of glass manufacturing and new materials industries in Dongshan County and surrounding areas, the port area undertakes important transportation tasks for raw materials and products. Tongling Port Area focuses on developing fishery economy and cold chain logistics, supporting the construction of fishing and unloading port facilities, cold storage and warehousing systems, and aquatic product processing and logistics bases, which can provide water product distribution, cold chain warehousing, international trade, and supply chain services. The port area has both passenger and roll on/roll off transportation functions, providing support for regional maritime transportation. Airline routes and intermodal networks Dongshan Port relies on its advantageous location in the Taiwan Strait to form a logistics and transportation network covering the coastal areas of Fujian, southern China, and both sides of the Taiwan Strait. In terms of regional shipping, the port maintains close linkage with ports such as Xiamen Port and Zhangzhou Port, achieving efficient transit of goods through coastal feeder transportation, and relying on Xiamen Port's international shipping network to connect major global trade markets. In the field of cold chain logistics, Dongshan Port relies on its complete cold storage facilities and aquatic product processing industry chain to form an integrated operation system of "fishing unloading warehousing processing distribution". After a large amount of offshore fishing and seafood is distributed through ports, it quickly covers the Yangtze River Delta, Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, and major consumer markets across the country through a road cold chain transportation network. At the same time, the port actively leverages its advantageous location in Taiwan to serve cross-strait economic and trade exchanges as well as the transportation of characteristic goods, providing port and shipping support for Fujian's construction of a cross-strait integrated development demonstration zone. Comprehensive positioning With its natural deep-water port conditions, superior strait location advantages, perfect cold chain logistics system, and characteristic marine industry foundation, Dongshan Port has developed into an important comprehensive port along the southern coast of Fujian. In the future, the port will continue to leverage its advantages in aquatic cold chain, marine economy, and regional logistics hub, further enhancing its ability to exchange and cooperate with Taiwan and provide modern port and shipping services, becoming an important port node connecting the economic development of both sides of the Taiwan Strait and the southeast coast.
