Port Introduction

Located on the west coast of the Bay of Bejaia in the northern part of Algeria (full name: The DEMOCRATIC PEOPL E'S REPUBLIC OF ALGERIA), adjacent to the southwest side of the Mediterranean Sea. Also known as BOUGIE, it is one of the three major oil ports in Algeria. The oil pipeline of the port can directly reach the OHANET oil region in southeastern Algeria, with a total length of 1052km and an annual oil transportation capacity of about 18 million tons. The port area is about 240km away from the airport and has regular flights. The port has a subtropical Mediterranean climate with an average annual temperature of about 25 ℃. The average annual rainfall is about 600mm. The tidal range is very small. There are 11 main docks in the port area, with a shoreline length of 2186m and a maximum water depth of 12.8m. The loading and unloading equipment includes various shore cranes, truck cranes, and tugboats, among which the maximum lifting capacity of the shore crane is 100 tons, and there are also oil pipelines with a diameter of 250-300mm for loading and unloading crude oil. The maximum reliable length of the oil tanker at the dock is 260m, with a maximum draft of 13m. The maximum draft for general dry bulk carriers is 9m. Loading and unloading efficiency: crude oil can be loaded at a rate of 4000 tons per hour. In addition to crude oil, the main exported goods include iron ore and wine, while imported goods mainly include petroleum products, wool, machinery, coal, salt, and flour.
