A 370 meter long deepwater dock will also be built in the southern port area of the Tiesi River. Two inclined ramps for roll on/roll off ships will be built in the northern port area. The warehouse area has been expanded by 15000 square meters. In 1992, the cargo throughput of Hong Kong and Middlesbrough Port reached 43 million tons. The main export goods are coal, machinery, limestone, magnesium carbonate, steel plates, steel pipes, dolomite, and salt, while the imported goods mainly include ore, wood, pulp, fish, paper, and feed.
