View MorePort Introduction
Located on the west coast of Gdansk Bay along the northern coast of Poland (full name: THE REPUBLIC OF POLAND), with the HEL Peninsula as a barrier, it borders the southeastern side of the Baltic Sea and is the third largest port in Poland. As early as World War II, it was already one of the busiest ports along the Baltic Sea coast. Afterwards, G ö rg established its position as a multi-purpose port for loading and unloading general cargo, container cargo, and dry bulk cargo in Poland. The transshipment cargo for loading and unloading general cargo in this port accounts for the vast majority of the entire Poland. Gegang is still an offshore fishing base. The main industries include shipbuilding, food processing, papermaking, and clothing. The port is about 35km away from the airport and about 17n miles away from the port of Gdansk. The port has a temperate continental climate, with an average annual temperature of about -5 ℃ in the coldest month and about 20 ℃ in the hottest month. In severe cold, there is freezing, but with the assistance of ice breaking ships, it does not affect navigation. The average annual rainfall is about 700mm. There is no tide. Hong Kong has breakwaters for protection, and the main dock berths are as follows: Dock name, berth (number), shoreline length (m), maximum draft (m) ───────── ────── ────── ────── General&BULK 17 4509 11 Container 5 1461 10.7 OIL QUAY 1 200 11.3 ─── ─── 23 6170 There are various types of loading and unloading equipment, including shore cranes, mobile cranes, container cranes, floating cranes, grab cranes, multi-purpose cranes, floating winches, and roll on/roll off facilities. Among them, the maximum lifting capacity of the floating crane is 300 tons. The container terminal is Poland's first computerized terminal, covering an area of 40 hectares and capable of stacking 7000 TEUs of containers simultaneously. The maximum reliable oil tanker at the oil terminal is 35000 deadweight tons. There are special cargo warehouses and open-air storage yards at the bulk and general cargo terminals. The coal loading and unloading efficiency can load 400 tons per hour. The anchorage of the large ship has a water depth of 14m. The port receives over 2000 ships annually, of which 70% are ocean going vessels. There are over 30 regular liner ships sailing to various parts of the world. The main export goods are coal, pig iron, wood, cement, food, and groceries, while the imported goods mainly include iron sand, fertilizers, cotton, grains, and liquid goods. In 1992, the container throughput was 120000 TEUs, with an annual cargo throughput capacity of approximately 24 million tons. During holidays, if there are valid reasons and approved, overtime can be arranged at a rate of 50% to 100%.
