Port Introduction

Located at the mouth of the Forcados River, a tributary of the Niger River, on the southern coast of Nigeria (full name: THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA), adjacent to the east side of the Bay of Benin, it is one of Nigeria's oil export ports. Nigeria's oil fields are mainly distributed in the delta and coastal continental shelf of the Niger River in the southeast. The proven reserves are about 5.8 billion tons, and the annual production of crude oil is about 100 million tons, ranking first in Africa and one of the top ten oil producing countries in the world. The quality of crude oil is excellent, with a sulfur content of only 1%, and the sea transportation line from Nigeria to European and American countries is nearly 10000 kilometers closer than that of Middle Eastern oil producing countries, so Nigerian crude oil is very popular in the international market. Transportation is mainly by road, which not only connects with the domestic road network, but also has international roads leading to neighboring countries. The port has a tropical rainforest climate with prevailing southwest winds. The highest annual average temperature is about 30 ℃, and the lowest is about 20 ℃. It is foggy from December to January of the following year, especially in the morning. The average annual rainfall is about 2000mm, and the rainy season is from May to October. The high tide rises by 1.5m, and the low tide rises by 1.2m. There are mainly two offshore oil berths in the port area: (1) Fukados oil berth, about 11n miles away from the shore, with two single point mooring floats; (2) ESCRAVOS oil berth, located about 12 miles from the shore, has two single point mooring floats and can accommodate a maximum of 350000 deadweight tons of super oil tankers. It is equipped with oil pipelines with diameters ranging from 406.4 to 609.6mm and underwater oil pipelines with diameters of 1219.2mm, with a length of about 14 miles. Loading and unloading efficiency: capable of loading 4000-9000 tons per hour. There is an oil pipeline in the port area that can directly reach Port Harcourt in the southeast. The annual oil transportation capacity of the two berths mentioned above is about 40 million tons. Port oil operations operate continuously 24 hours a day and do not work during holidays such as Chinese holidays, Good Friday, and Christmas.
