Port Introduction
South Coast Port of Jamaica. The maximum draft is 10.97 meters, and the load density of water is 1025. The average tidal range changes by 0.30 meters, with prevailing northeast winds. Mandatory pilotage, notify the navigation station by telegram 48 hours before the ship arrives at the port. 24 hours in advance, the estimated arrival time of the ship must be notified to the port authority, and communication should be carried out on VHF channels 16, 6, and 2, with personnel on duty 24 hours a day. The dredged waterway is nearly 2.4 kilometers long, with a minimum depth of 11.9 meters. The dock is located at the inner end of the harbor and can accommodate ships up to 198 meters in length, with a maximum draft of 10.9 meters. Three anchorages can be obtained. Six copies of the ship's entry documents for all crew and passengers, international vaccination certificate for all crew members, maritime health certificate, cargo manifest, four loading orders, personal property registration form for crew members, package list, two copies of customs clearance at the previous port, one supply list, and cargo storage plan. Port service facilities: refueling, small boats, medical care, fresh water, supplies, repatriation, no ship repair, dry dock, towing, and sewage discharge. The west berth is mainly used for bulk aluminum. The maximum allowed length is 192 meters, width is 28 meters, and maximum draft is 10.97 meters. The bulk cargo terminal is 192 meters long with an average low tide depth of 11.58 meters. The berth prioritizes bulk aluminum, but when the berth is vacant, it can also be used for loading and unloading general cargo ships and other ships for loading and unloading fuel oil, caustic soda solutions, etc. There is a conveying system for bulk aluminum loading on the berth, with a maximum movement distance of 126 meters. Install 1000 tons of aluminum per hour. There are railway tracks laid on the west side of the embankment. The East berth is a general cargo ship berth, with a maximum length of 167.64 meters, a width of 21.33 meters, and a maximum draft of 10.97 meters. The grocery dock is 17.64 meters long, with an average low tide depth of 11.58 meters and an average tidal range of 0.30 meters. The oil tanker berths are located on both sides of the breakwater, mainly for loading and unloading fuel oil, caustic alkali solution, sulfuric acid, and syrup. The diameters of the pipelines used for loading and unloading these goods are 20 centimeters for fuel oil, 25 centimeters for caustic alkali solution, 10 centimeters for sulfuric acid, 30 centimeters for syrup, and 10 centimeters for fresh water. The maximum length of the ship carrying fuel oil and caustic alkali solution is 198 meters, the width is 28 meters, and the maximum draft is 11 meters.
