Port Introduction

Indonesian oil port. Located in the middle of the northeast coast of Sumatra Island in the western part of the country, on the south coast of the Rupa Strait, adjacent to the Strait of Malacca. It is about 140 nautical miles southeast of Singapore, about 170 nautical miles northwest of Bukit Bintang, and about 90 nautical miles north of Port Klang in Malaysia. The port area extends east-west along the coast of the Rupa Strait, with Rupa Island as a barrier to the north. The eastern part is PERTAMINA's petrochemical terminal, which has 6 berths in a stack bridge shape with a front water depth of 15-18 meters. Except for berth 1 and berth 6, all other berths can accommodate oil tankers of 10000-35000 tons. berth 1 can accommodate oil tankers of 100000 tons, but berth 6 only accepts oil tankers below 3000 tons and has hoses connected to the storage area. The middle section is the crude oil terminal, with a total of 4 wharf berths. Berths 1 and 2 have a water depth of over 18 meters and can reliably accommodate 150000 ton oil tankers; Berths 3 and 4 have a water depth of over 15 meters and can accommodate oil tankers of 100000 and 55000 tons respectively. They are connected to the terminal oil depot via a 12 inch oil pipeline. In the west, there are the Port Authority's No. 1 and No. 2 dry berths, which are used to dock dry cargo ships of 10000-20000 tons. There are one 13 ton, one 18 ton, and one 40 ton shore crane, as well as two 40 ton mobile cranes on standby at the dock. The port is Indonesia's largest oil export port, and the Minas oil field in the south is also the largest oil storage area in Indonesia.
