Port Introduction

Argentine estuary port. Located downstream of the Paran á River. When adopting the standard of West Zone 4. The maximum draft is 8.2 meters. The load density of water is 1000. No tidal changes. No prevailing wind direction. Compulsory pilotage. Communication: Contact the radio stations at frequencies 8, 12, and 14, as well as the CONTRASE ZARATE radio station. Working hours are from 7:00 to 17:00. Port service facilities: ship repair, small boats, towing, fresh water, supplies, repatriation, no refueling, dry dock, sewage discharge. There is a railway in the port city. The relevant regulations of the port can be found in Campana. The Sarat Bridge spans the Paran á River, with a maximum distance of 11 to 12.2 meters from the riverbank. There are 7 berths in the port city: one for general cargo, with a water depth of 10 to 7.9 meters and a length of 56 meters; Four oil tanker berths, 249 meters long with an average water depth of 6.7 meters, mainly for unloading fuel oil, are privately owned terminals; Two SMITHFEED berths, with a shoreline length of 109.5 meters and a water depth of 7.6 meters. The port was leased to Paraguay 8 kilometers upstream and designated as a Paraguayan free zone with an oil tanker terminal. Ocean going oil tankers unload their cargo here and then transfer it inland from ships to MEDIN and Asuncion. However, the free zone is still under the supervision of Argentine customs and port authorities.
