There is a signal station at the entrance of the waterway entering the port, with colored geometric shapes hanging during the day and signal lights hanging at night. White balls and white signal lights indicate that ocean going vessels can freely navigate, while red double cones and red signal lights indicate that ocean going vessels can only depart from port; The green cone and green signal light indicate that coastal ships can freely pass through; The yellow cone and the two green and red signal lights indicate that coastal ships are allowed to proceed with caution; No hanging signal indicates that the port and waterway are closed. All ships must follow the instructions of the signal, which can be inquired with a whistle: one long and three short for ocean going ships; Two short and one long are coastal ships. The pilot is stationed in Rosario, where the inland pilot takes over the work of the offshore pilot. The pilot needs to arrange 6 hours in advance.
