Recently, the "COSCO Asia" vessel berthed at the Hairen Terminal of Xiamen Port marking the official launch of the new WSA3 route to the west coast of South America, which was meticulously crafted by COSCO Shipping.

This new route design Xiamen Port as the inaugural port of call, further densifying the shipping layout from Xiamen Port to the west coast of South America and adding an efficient and convenient maritime for the smooth flow of regional foreign trade.

During this maiden voyage, the container operation yielded remarkable results, with a total of about 1,200 TE handled. The diverse range of export goods included automotive parts, architectural ceramics, quartz and stone products, as well as baby daily necessities. The export of these highvalue-added commodities fully demonstrates the strong capabilities of Xiamen Port as an international shipping hub, not only driving the vigorous development of inland industries but also showcasing its unobed connection with the outside world.

To ensure efficient operations for the vessels on the new route, the Haicang Joint Operation Center of Xiamen Container Terminal Group proactive measures and engaged in in-depth communication and docking with the shipping line. The operation team at Hairen Terminal meticulously rehearsed the entire operation process in advance, a scientific and reasonable operation plan for the vessels based on the actual on-site conditions of the terminal. Through these efforts, the berth efficiency was maximized, non-productivepage time was compressed, and the operation tasks were efficiently and excellently completed.

This new route is operated by COSCO Shipping and adopts a weekly schedule, with 12 vessels deployed to ensure sufficient shipping capacity. The ports of call include major domestic ports such as Hong Kong, Nansha, Xiamen, Qingdao, Nbo, and Shanghai, as well as overseas ports such as Callao in Peru, San Antonio in Chile, Haiphong in Vietnam, and Singapore.

The new closely aligns with the demand from emerging trade markets in South America and Vietnam, aiding trading companies in optimizing supply chain management and expanding into a broader foreign trade space
