Port Introduction

DETROIT, MI is a river port and basic port located in Detroit, Michigan, in the southeastern part of the United States. It is situated on the left bank of the Detroit River to the east and faces Windsor Port in Canada across the river. To the northwest of Lake Erie to the south. Detroit Port allows ships to enter with a maximum draft of 8.23 meters and no tidal range. The prevailing wind direction is from southwest to northeast. The annual import and export tonnage is about 25 million tons. General cargo and bulk cargo berths: Container Ocean Terminal, 320 meters long, draft 8.23 meters; Detroit Clark Pier, 708.66 meters long with a draft of 8.23 meters; Detroit Lurie Wharf, 426.72 meters long with a draft of 8.23 meters; Nicholson Ecorse Pier, 1036.32 meters long; The Nicholson Sumit dock is 466.34 meters long and has a draft of 8.23 meters. The above-mentioned berths can accommodate roll on/roll off ships and container ships.
