Port Introduction

Located on the north coast of PARIA Bay in the northwest of Trinidad and Tobago (full name: The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago), in the Chaguaramas Bay, at the top of northern South America, it is the second largest port in Trinidad and Tobago. The economy is mainly based on oil extraction and refining. Agriculture mainly includes sugarcane, cocoa, citrus, coffee, coconut, and rice. 75% of food is imported. Transportation is mainly based on road transportation, which can reach all major towns in the country. The port is about 15km away from the international airport. The port has a tropical rainforest climate with prevailing easterly winds. The annual average temperature is between 20 and 30 ℃. The average annual rainfall is about 2000mm, and the rainy season is from June to December. The average tide height is 0.6m, with the highest tide reaching 1.3m. There are two main berths in the port area, with a shoreline length of 414 meters and a maximum water depth of 10.5 meters. Ship cranes are used for loading and unloading operations. The maximum reliable ship capacity at the dock is 25000 deadweight tons. The anchorage of the large ship has a water depth of 26 meters. The main exported goods are petroleum products, sugar, natural asphalt, and nitrogen fertilizers, while the imported goods mainly include food, machinery, steel, textiles, and chemical products. The main trading partner is the United States, with exports to the United States accounting for about 60% of total exports and imports from the United States accounting for about 40% of total imports each year. Other countries include Western Europe and the Caribbean. If necessary during holidays, overtime can be worked, but advance notice must be given.
