Port Introduction
NAKHODKA Port is located in the Nakhodka Bay of the Sea of Japan, about 80 kilometers southeast of Vladivostok. It is a major seaport in the Russian Far East, with a throughput of half of the country's foreign trade goods. It is also one of the important transit ports for land sea transportation on the Siberian Continental Bridge in Russia. The Nakhodka Port handled 13576 tons in 2003, and the container throughput in the first eight months of 2004 increased by 7% compared to the same period in 2003, reaching 8116 tons. The storage capacity of the port has increased from 600 tons to 1280 tons. Currently, the port has direct routes to Vietnam and Shanghai Busan Nakhodka Port, with monthly cargo volumes of over 1000 tons each. About 70% of the container volume in Vladivostok and Nakhodka ports is transported to Russia via the Trans Siberian Railway, while the remaining 30% is shipped to countries such as Finland and Germany.
