View MorePort Introduction
The first commercial port in the Philippines. Located on the east coast of Manila Bay southwest of Luzon Island in the northern part of the country, adjacent to the port city. Northwest to Hong Kong 720 nautical miles, northeast to Wusong in Shanghai, China 1117 nautical miles, to Yokohama Port in Japan 1750 nautical miles, southwest to Singapore Port 1340 nautical miles, south to the second largest port in the country, Suwu Port 392 nautical miles, and to Sanbaoyan Port 512 nautical miles. There is an international airport nearby. The port area extends north and south along the coast, divided into two major ports by the mouth of the Bashi River. Beigang starts from the north bank of the Bashi River mouth and extends westward from the land bank with 8 protruding dikes, but the water depth is shallow and only allows coastal ships to dock. Nangang is located south of the mouth of the Bashi River, with a slightly southeast coastline and five protruding dikes extending southwest, protected by a breakwater outside. The third pier has four berths from north to south, with a berth line length of 803 meters. Except for the fourth berth with a water depth of 6.5-7.8 meters along the edge, the other three berths have a water depth of 9.4 meters. There are 5 berths on the 5th berth pier, with a total length of 825 meters. Except for berths 1 and 5, which have a water depth of 7.4-8.8 meters, the other 3 berths can reach 9.4 meters. The 9th pier also has 5 berths, with a dock line length of 847 meters. Except for berth 3, which has a water depth of 9.4 meters, the other 4 berths have a water depth of only 7.1-8.8 meters; The 13th pier has 7 berths and a dock length of 950 meters, with berths 3, 4, and 5 having a water depth of 9.4-9.7 meters and others ranging from 8.4-8.8 meters; The 15th pier has 5 berths, with a dock line length of 888 meters. The water depth of berths 1-4 is 9.7-10.9 meters, with only berth 5 having a water depth of 7.1-8.8 meters. The above five piers have a total of 26 berths, with a total length of 4340 meters of dock line, all for loading and unloading general cargo and containers. In order to adapt to the development of port container throughput, a large pier has been built between the north and south ports, extending westward from the north bank of the Bashi River mouth. An international container port area has been constructed outside the original breakwater of the north port, with four container berths and a dock line length of 986 meters. The average water depth at the front is 10.4 meters. In addition to the public port areas mentioned above, there is also the Rosario Oil and Dangerous Goods Port Area located in the southwest of the port and southeast of the Manila Bay entrance. There are one offshore berth and one dock berth each, which can accommodate 45000 ton ships. In the late 1980s, the port's throughput exceeded 30 million tons, with an annual container loading and unloading capacity of 860000 TEUs.
