Papua New Guinea Commercial Port. Located on the southeast coast of New Guinea, in the small bay of MARKHAM, west of the port city, adjacent to Solomon Hoon Bay. To the northeast is 448 nautical miles from Rabaul Port, to the east is 614 nautical miles from Kiata Port, to the south is 992 nautical miles from Moresby Port, and to the Australian port of Brisbane is 1649 nautical miles. The port area is located on the northwest coast of MARKHAM Bay, with a northwest southeast oriented frame wharf, with a total length of 430 meters (264 meters for berths 1 and 2 in the northwest and 184 meters for berth 3 in the southeast). The front water depth is 11-13 meters, and the wharf has a warehouse of 1485 square meters and a storage yard of 39000 square meters. The wharf is commonly used for loading and unloading miscellaneous goods and container ores. There is also a mooring line at the eastern end of the dock, which can anchor ships of 40000 deadweight tons and has oil unloading equipment. A container terminal has been newly built on the east bank of the northwest harbor, with a length of 180 meters and a depth of 11 meters in the harbor; There are also some small and medium-sized berths nearby. The port exports timber, plywood, mineral products, imports petroleum, miscellaneous goods, etc.
