Casablanca is located on the northwest coast of Morocco (full name: THE KINGDOM OF MOROCO), about 88km northeast of the capital city of Rabat, on the east side of the Atlantic Ocean. Also known as DAR EL BEIDA, it is the largest port in Morocco. Founded in 1770, it developed into a maritime trade center in the late 19th century. It is the center of the national economy and transportation, with about 4/5 of the country's modern industry and industrial output value accounting for about 2/3 of the country's total output value. The main industries include refining, ironmaking, chemical industry, textile, fish processing, cement, tobacco, automobile manufacturing, rubber, canning, and wood processing. The port is also an important fishing port. Railways can lead to major towns and production areas in China. There are two international airports in the port, the closer of which is about 5.5km. The average tide height is 0.37m for high tide and 0.03m for low tide. There are 44 main berths in the port area, with a shoreline of up to 7000 meters and a maximum water depth of 12 meters. The loading and unloading equipment includes various shore cranes, mobile cranes, tower cranes, floating cranes, forklifts, cross loading vehicles, tugboats, and roll on/roll off facilities. The maximum lifting capacity of mobile cranes is 72 tons, the maximum lifting capacity of floating cranes is 150 tons, and the maximum power of tugboats is 1100 kW. The warehouse area of the port area is 150000 square meters, the phosphate storage capacity is 320000 tons, and the container yard area is 85000 square meters, which can store 5000 TEUs. The oil terminal can accommodate up to 60000 deadweight tons of oil tankers. The anchorage depth of the large ship is 24m. In 1992, the container throughput was 178000 TEUs. The main export goods are phosphate, citrus, fish products, lead and zinc mines, and agricultural products, while the imported goods mainly include grain, steel, wood, cement, coal, petroleum, machinery, and electronic products. The port has established a comprehensive management system for communication, departure, and cargo loading and unloading processes, achieving computerization of port services and management. This system will achieve computer networking with major ports in Europe and build a new generation of container terminals. During holidays, homework can be arranged if necessary.
