TAKORADI

TAKORADI is located on the southern coast of Ghana (full name: THE REPUBLIC OF GHANA) in the Takoradi Bay Internally, on the north side of the Gulf of Guinea, it is a famous deep-water artificial port in the Gulf of Guinea. TAKORADI has a tropical rainforest climate with prevailing northeast winds. The annual average temperature can reach a maximum of 34 ℃ from February to March, and a minimum of 15 ℃ from August to September. The annual average rainfall is about 1800mm. The rainy season is from May to October, and there are thunderstorms from mid October to mid December. The tidal changes are minimal. There are 9 main dock berths in the TAKORADI port area, with a shoreline length of 1569m and a maximum water depth of 10m. The load density of water is 1024. There are ship repair, refueling, dry dock, small boats, medical services, towing, freshwater supply, provisions, repatriation, but no sewage facilities. The draft of the rhodochrosite berth is 8.5 meters, the draft of the oil tanker berth is 8.8 meters, and the draft of the 5 general cargo berths ranges from 7.9 meters to 8.5 meters. There are also some coastal berths with a draft of 4.4 meters. 9 mooring buoys, capable of accommodating vessels with a length of 183 meters and a draft of 5.5 to 9.8 meters. There are various types of loading and unloading equipment, including shore cranes, gantry cranes, mobile cranes, multi-purpose cranes, truck cranes, conveyor belts, barges, tugboats, and roll on/roll off facilities The maximum capacity of the multi-purpose crane is 35 tons, and there is also a 200mm diameter oil pipeline for loading and unloading. The TAKORADI port area has a large number of warehouses and cargo sheds, as well as a yard for sawmilling. The maximum reliable ship capacity at the dock is 20000 deadweight tons. There is also a mooring float 8 vessels with a maximum berthing length of 173m. Loading and unloading efficiency: 333 tons of manganese ore per hour, 330 tons of bauxite per hour, 150 tons of gasoline per hour, and 200 tons of kerosene per hour. The annual cargo throughput is about 1.6 million tons, with the main export goods being manganese ore, cocoa, wood, bauxite, palm oil, rubber, gold, dried coconut and bananas, and the import goods being The main products include textiles, machinery, coal, electrical appliances, oil, tobacco, synthetic silk, steel, food, and pharmaceuticals. During holidays, Good Friday and Christmas do not work.
