BUENAVENTURA

Colombia Pacific Coast Commercial Port. Located on Kaskajar Island in Buenaventula Bay in the western part of the country, it is connected to the mainland by a seawall. The sea route is 352 nautical miles north of Balboa Port at the southern mouth of Panama River and 578 nautical miles south of Guayaquil Port. The port has around 10 berths, with a total length of 2216 meters for the main dock and a water depth of 9.45 meters at low tide. It can accommodate 8 10000 ton sea vessels. In the early 1990s, the main dock was awarded to China Harbour Engineering Company for construction and underwent a comprehensive renovation with an investment of 7 million US dollars. The port has good protective equipment and a large area of ship turning waters and anchorages. The depth of the anchorages is 10.01-21.64 meters, and the seabed mud is conducive to anchoring. The shallow waters outside the harbor do not affect the entry of ships with a draft of 9.14 meters when the tide rises. The dock has good loading and unloading equipment and nine warehouses with a total storage capacity of 70000 cubic meters, with fuel oil and fresh water supply. Output coffee candies, cotton, gold, etc.
