Port Introduction
An island port in the Torres Strait in northeastern Australia. The maximum draft is 6.5 meters. The load density of water is 1025. The tidal range is 3.6 meters. From March to November, southeast winds prevail, and from December to February of the following year, northwest winds prevail. Use radio very high frequency channels 11, 12, 67, and 6 for communication and call "THURSDAY ISLAND HARBOUR"; Torres Navigation Station Service Desk uses very high frequency channels 12 and 16 to call 'REEF PILOTS'. Working hours are from 8:00 to 24:00. Customs officials and doctors boarded a small boat in the Normandy Bay between Goodes Island and Friday Island. Port service facilities include ship repair, refueling, small boats, medical care, fresh water, supplies, and repatriation, but there are no dry docks, towing, or sewage facilities. The port has two berths for general cargo and bulk cargo, with a length of 30.2 meters and 27.5 meters respectively, and a draft of 4.5 meters and 3.5 meters; Two oil tanker berths with a draft of 6.0 meters.
