Port Introduction

Australian commercial port. Located at the mouth of the Mezel River on the north coast of Tasmania Island in the southeast of the country, northeast of the port city, facing the Bass Strait, about 30 nautical miles west of Burnie Port, about 205 nautical miles northwest of Melbourne Port, and southeast of Launceston and South Hobart City. The port area is located within the river mouth, on both sides outside the bridge, and on the west bank, there are 5 berths. From north to south, berths 1-3 have a water depth of 7.8-8.5 meters, and berths 1 and 3 are each 168 meters long, used for loading and unloading loose cement and other bulk cargo; Berth 2 is 189 meters long and is used for loading and unloading general cargo. There is a warehouse of 2776 square meters on the dock. Berth 4 is 198 meters long and has a front water depth of 10.5 meters. It is a deep-water berth on the west bank, used for loading and unloading refrigerated goods, bulk grain, and 7200 cubic meters of cold storage on the dock. Berth 5 is a T-shaped protruding embankment with a water depth of 7 meters, used for loading and unloading liquefied petroleum gas. There are also two berths on the east bank, with berth 1 in the north being 152 meters long and 7.2 meters deep, used for loading and unloading roll on/roll off cargo, containers, and passenger transportation; Berth 2 is 213 meters long and has a water depth of 9.1 meters along the edge, used for berthing roll on/roll off ships. There are 7 intermediate and above berths in Hong Kong, with an annual throughput of over 2 million tons, mainly exporting bulk grain, timber, pulp, cement, lime, agricultural storage products, etc; Import petroleum products, industrial products, etc.
