Port Introduction

Australian ore export port. Located on the northwest coast of Western Australia, facing the southern Indian Ocean. To the northeast, it is 133 nautical miles from Hedland Port, 997 nautical miles from Darwin Port, 706 nautical miles from Lombok Strait to the north, and 837 nautical miles from Fremantle to the southwest. The port area is located in the western depression of the protruding cape northwest of Robern Town, facing south and north. There are many small islands to the northwest outside the coast, such as Marus Island and Xiliwei Island, which can block the west wind. There are four wharf piers in the harbor that extend northward from the shore walls or small islands, which are connected to the seawall on the land. Two of the four docks are ore export berths, with the east berth being 269 meters long and the front water depth being 17.7 meters. They are capable of reliably accommodating 140000 ton ships, and the efficiency of the loading machines on the docks. 6000 long tons per small garment; The west berth is 341 meters long, with a water depth of 18.6 meters along the edge, and can reliably accommodate 200000 ton ore ships. The loading efficiency per hour is 7500 long tons. In addition, there is a general cargo berth on the east side of the East Ore Terminal, which can reliably accommodate ships with a draft of 7.7 meters; There is a salt dock to the west of the West Ore Terminal, with a water depth of 12.5 meters at the forefront, serving the daily life of the mine. The port has a throughput of approximately 40 million tons and is one of Australia's major iron ore export ports, accounting for about half of Australia's iron ore exports. The port was built in the 1960s and named after the first British explorer to land in Australia in 1688.
