Recently, Trump posted an article on the social media site Truth Social, calling on NATO countries not only to stop buying Russian oil as a condition the US to impose sanctions on Moscow, but also to "impose tariffs of 50% to 100% on China and fully cancel them after the end of war in Ukraine."

"If NATO does what I say, the war will end soon! Otherwise, you are wasting my time and wasting the time, energy and money the United States," he warned.

In August, Trump signed an executive order to impose an additional 25% tariff on Indian goods exported to the US, citing's "continued import of Russian oil." The move brought the total tariff rate on Indian goods exported to the US to 50%, as the US had already a 25% tariff on Indian goods.

Trump claimed that the move was made to deal with the "national emergency" caused by the Russia-Ukraine conflict and India of supporting Russia's "war machine" by purchasing its oil.
