On the local time of the 15th, Israeli officials confirmed that Israel and the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) had reached an agreement on the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the issue of detained personnel. At the same time, Hamas senior official Bassem Naim also confirmed that the organization had accepted the ceasefire and release of detained personnel agreement with Israel. Qatar, one of the mediators, said that the ceasefire agreement would be officially implemented on the 19th.

On the 16th, Maersk Line and Hapag-Lloyd, the world's two largest shipping companies, said that after Hamas announced a ceasefire with Israel, they did not expect shipping companies to return to the Red Sea immediately. The two companies said they would closely monitor the situation in the Middle East and return to the Red Sea once it was safe. A spokesman for Hapag-Lloyd said, "The agreement has just been reached. We will closely analyze the latest developments and their impact on the security situation in the Red Sea." A Maersk spokesman said, "It's too early to speculate now."

As early as June, Hapag-Lloyd had stated that even if a ceasefire was reached, it did not mean that the Suez Canal could resume navigation immediately, as attacks by the Houthi forces could still occur. The company's spokesman said at that time that it would take four to six weeks to rearrange shipping routes.
