SP Transit Estonia Ltd. The transport company SP Transit Estonia Ltd. was established in 1991 as an Estonian-Finnish joint-stock company which started operating in international road transport with only a few trucks and trailers. As there was demand in the market for a combined high quality transport and freight forwarding product, SP Transit had to establish and develop a forwarding department of its own. At present, SP Transit is operating as forwarding company and partly as well as trucking company. SP Transit provides international and domestic transport services with full loads, as well as part loads, grouppage and large shipment. Handling of grouppage and part loads arranged in Estonia via the terminals in Tallinn, Rakvere and Tartu. Smaller lorries and vans of SP Transit collect and deliver smaller shipments all over Estonia through these three terminals. Starting from the year 1997, we are using a 12.9 thousand sq.m warehouse facilities situating at 15~ minute drive from the Centre of Tallinn next to St. Petersburg Rd. The facilities include 2,5 thousand sq.m terminal and bonded warehouse. At present, SP Transit acts as an agent in Baltics for transport companies Alphasped(Switzerland), Eurolog (Hungary), Nordcargo (Norway), Hansar Logistics (Sweden), Nuova Transports SPA (Italy), Beijer(Netherlands), ICT (Denmark) and TTM Internationale Spedition (Germany). In Finland our representative is our mother company SP Transit Finland Ltd. SP Transit Estonia Ltd. has its subsidiaries in Latvia (A/s SP Transit Latvia), Lithuania (UAB SP Transit Vilnius) and Poland (SP Transit Poland Spolka z o.o.). In Russia we are working with transport company ZAO Niinivirta Transport Ltd Moscow. During the last years SP Transit has concentrated on main directions as follows: 1. Regular transportation of grouppage and part loads between terminals of Helsinki, Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius; delivery and pick-up in Finland, Baltic states, Belarus, Moldavia and Ukraine. The SP Transit Finland Oy terminal in Helsinki is also the reloading venue for shipments to Overseas. 2. Trucking semitrailers arriving by vessel from Helsinki to Tallinn harbour to the Baltic states, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovak, Hungary, Austria, Croatia, Slovenia, Romania, Bulgaria and back to the Baltics and Finland. 3. Transportation full loads and large shipments between Baltic States and Russia, Western and South Europe and Scandinavia. Regular grouppage and part loads traffic between Italy, Austria, Russia, Hungary, Poland, Denmark, Germany, Sweden, Netherlands and Baltics. 4. Domestic pick–up and delivery in Estonia as well as special transport for Estonian forest industry and heavy transport. SP Transit owns 37 heavy trucks, 8 lorries and 3 vans; together with SP Transit Finland Ltd. and our subsidiaries there are in use in international traffic 220 tilt semitrailers and 45 frigotrailers, all of them 13.5 m long.. Besides those vehicles, SP Transit makes extensive use of the services other Estonian trucking companies as well as private trucks. About 50% of the total goods flow are operated with truck and trailers of our own and 50% with other trucks. Besides of transport services wa are offering for our clients as well different kind of warehouse related services. Our employee in Estonia is nowadays 115 person.
