VS Cargo Ltd. was established in 1998 with an aim to h&le all rail logistics into the Democratic Republic of Congo from various countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. In 2003 VS Cargo strategically moved their operations to the Katanga Province. The influx of cargo such as copper and cobalt concentrates necessitated the opening of a transit and bonded warehousing facility in Ndola capable of handling both rail and road logistics which was commissioned in end December 2006. With the growth of VS Cargo another warehouse facility was added in late 2008 handling both rail and road with the installation of our own 80T electronic weighbridge and this year we have expanded to include a Sulphur Shed and new warehousing and offices comprising a total of over 40000m2. In 2008 we set up RMK Enterprises Ltd which is our clearing and f|warding company with offices at all the major borders in Zambia handling RIT, RIB, Bonding and ex-Bonding and final clearing. Following the unfortunate spate of copper and cobalt thefts it was decided to create our in house Security Fleet and this has been in operation since late 2009 and also providing abnormal load escorts and permits throughout Zambia. Currently we also handle security for all fuel in transit by rail from South Africa to various destinations in the DRC. VS Security SARL is our DRC security operations and we are now securing loads from mine up to final destinations: Dar es Salaam Johannesburg/Durban Walvis Bay Beira VS Cargo has handled various projects for important mines in the region: FRONTIER MINE (FQM): bagging and export of copper concentrates operation on site and later handled in Ndola DCP : bagging and export by rail from Kolwezi of cobalt concentrates destined to South Africa MUMI: Export by rail at Kisenda to South Africa and Zambia GECAMINES : COAL Advantage Services - SECURITY ESCORT & ABNORMAL LOAD ESCORT - CLEARING AND FORWARDING - WAREHOUSING - TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS
