PT Multi Terminal Indonesia (MTI) from the legal aspect confirmed by the Notary Herdimansyah Chaidirsyah Bachelor of Law in Jakarta on February 15, 2002 but a new operation operates on April 15, 2002. PT MTI is a subsidiary of PT (Persero) Pelabuhan Indonesia II, which is a spin off from one of the Branch Division, Port of Tanjung Priok Terminal Business Division (dut). The composition of ownership shares of MTI is 99% owned by PT (Persero) Pelabuhan Indonesia II, and 1% owned by the Maritime Employees Cooperative (KOPEGMAR) Tanjung Priok. The history of PT MTI is inseparable from the history of ports in Indonesia, which has undergone several changes (transformation). Transformation of the port company briefly as follows:
1. Period 1984 - 1992 Management of public ports distinguish between public ports and public port cultivated non cultivated. Management of public ports are arranged by Public Companies (PERUM) Port, while the management of public ports that are not cultivated by the Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) under the Directorate General of Sea Transportation as stipulated in Government Regulation number 11 in 1983. Port PERUM divided by region into PERUM Port I sd IV.
2. Period 1992 - 2002 Status PERUM Port II changed into PT (Persero) Pelabuhan Indonesia II in accordance with Government Regulation number 57 dated October 19, 1991, in this period of loading and unloading activities carried out by the Business Division Branch Terminal Port of Tanjung Priok.
3. Period 2002 - until now Terminal Business Division (Dut) separated (Spin Off) from Port of Tanjung Priok branch to PT Multi Terminal Indonesia which was established by Deed of Company Establishment Deed number 15 by Herdimansyah Chaidirsyah Bachelor of Law in Jakarta on February 15, 2002, based on considerations optimize the business potential and strengthen its competitive advantage as service providers.
