There are two port areas in Hong Kong, new and old. The main dock berth is a protruding pier in the new port area, which is 372m long and has 4 berths with a maximum water depth of 10.6m. The loading and unloading equipment includes shore cranes, mobile cranes, floating cranes, truck cranes, forklifts, and tractors, among which the maximum lifting capacity of the floating crane is 50 tons. The capacity of the grain silo is 32000 tons. In 1994, the container throughput was 214000 TEUs. The main export goods are cotton, tobacco, figs, grains, vegetables, carpets, and textiles, while the imported goods mainly include wood, scrap steel, and industrial products.
