Port Introduction
Located on the southwest bank of BANDIRMA Bay on the northwest coast of Türkiye (full name: THE REPUBLIC OF Türkiye), bordering the southern side of MARMARA, it is one of the main ports in western Türkiye. About 63 miles away from Istanbul, the nearest airport is the port of Izmir. The port has a subtropical Mediterranean climate with an average annual temperature of 11-28 ℃. The average annual rainfall is about 750mm. The tides in Hong Kong are very low. There are 19 main berths in the port area, with a shoreline length of 2845m and a maximum water depth of 11m, including bulk cargo, general cargo, and roll on/roll off loading docks. There are various types of loading and unloading equipment such as shore cranes, mobile cranes, tractors, forklifts, and roll on/roll off facilities. Loading and unloading efficiency: 3000 tons of fertilizer per day and 400 tons of liquid ammonia per hour. In 1992, the container throughput was 1115 TEUs. The main export goods are tomato sauce, boric acid, hard boron calcium stone, and loose borax, while the imported goods mainly include fertilizers and groceries.
