Port Introduction

Located on the north coast of the Gulf of Finland (FINLAND) along the southern coast of Finland (full name: THE REPUBLIC OF FINLAND), it is the largest port in Finland. Founded in 1640, it became the capital of Finland in 1812 and is now the political, cultural, economic, and transportation center of the country. It is also the largest industrial center in the country, not only the center of machine manufacturing and shipbuilding industries, but also the center of printing and clothing industries. In addition, there are industries such as metallurgy, chemistry, food, and textiles. Helsinki is also the largest foreign trade port in the country, responsible for about 50% of Finland's foreign trade freight volume. The summer in Helsinki is particularly long, with sunshine shining for up to 20 hours a day. Therefore, people call Helsinki the 'capital city where the sun never sets'. The port is about 25km away from the airport, and there are regular flights to various parts of the world every day. About 170 miles away from the port of St. Petersburg, Russia. The northern temperate continental climate of the port is dominated by south southeast winds. The annual average temperature is about -7 degrees Celsius in winter, with a minimum of -24 degrees Celsius, and about 22 degrees Celsius in summer, with a maximum of 29 degrees Celsius. The freezing period is from late December to mid April of the following year, but there are ice breaking ships to assist in sailing. The average annual rainfall is about 600mm. The average tidal range is very small. There are small islands outside Hong Kong as a barrier, making it a natural harbor. There are various types of loading and unloading equipment, including shore cranes, gantry cranes, container cranes, multifunctional cranes, grain suction hoists, specialized bridge cranes, and roll on/roll off facilities. The grocery terminal has a fixed crane with a maximum lifting capacity of 150 tons; There are batteries at the oil terminal; The container terminal covers approximately 200000 square meters. The total area of the port warehouse is 520000 square meters, and the area of the open-air storage yard is 1.2 million square meters. The western port area of the port is the largest, responsible for the loading and unloading of container and trailer liners to and from Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Poland, France, and the United Kingdom, as well as for the loading and unloading of general cargo liners with longer voyages. The Serna Minan Port Area is a regular shipping center responsible for the transportation of major trailers between ports in the Baltic Sea and Belgium, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. It is also a center for the import and export of fruits and vegetables in Finland, with a large-scale fresh goods warehouse, a dedicated port for importing oil, and a warehouse for dangerous goods and flammable chemicals. The free trade zone in Hong Kong covers an area of 100000 square meters, mainly consisting of storage facilities. There is a 20000 square meter free trade zone in the western port area, where goods entering the zone are not subject to customs control and the deadline is not restricted. When the goods are transported away, taxes and fees will be paid. There is an 80000 square meter free trade zone in the southern port area of Cerna, mainly used for parking imported cars waiting for delivery. The main imported goods are coal, oil, grains, fruits, and automobiles, while the main exported goods are wood, paper, pulp, and wooden products. In 1994, the container throughput was 473000 TEUs (222000 TEUs for exports and 251000 TEUs for imports), accounting for about 74% of the total container volume in Finland, and about 46% of the truck and trailer volume. The annual cargo throughput capacity is about 15 million tons. If overtime is required during holidays, an application must be submitted 24 hours in advance. After approval, homework can be arranged, but overtime pay should be paid.
