Port Introduction
Palma de Mallorca is a major city and port on the island of Mallorca, and also the capital of the Balearic Autonomous Community in Spain. The prosperous history of this city can be traced back to the ancient Roman period, when it was the capital of the Kingdom of Mallorca and left behind a series of outstanding buildings for future generations. On December 26, 2019, it ranked 449th on the 2019 Global City 500 list. The city of Parma is located on the western coast of Mallorca, with an area of 208.63 square kilometers and a population of 400000. As early as 1300-1000 BC, people lived collectively here. In 123 BC, the Balearic Islands were incorporated into the Roman Empire. During the Arab occupation from the 9th to the 13th century, the city of Parma basically formed its urban scale. In 1229, King Hayme I of Aragon acquired the city from the Arabs and subsequently carried out large-scale renovations of the city's architecture in Gothic style. In the Middle Ages, with the development of maritime trade, many palaces were built in the old urban areas. In 1715, Mallorca lost its status as a kingdom, and the "city of the Mallorca people" was henceforth known as Parma. From the 19th century to the beginning of this century, the ancient buildings in the city were severely damaged. Since the beginning of this century, with the large-scale development of tourism and the increase in population, hotels, residences, and other modern buildings have increased rapidly, while cities are still expanding. There are many cultural relics and historical sites such as churches, temples, and castles in the city. The beaches are flat and clean, and the seawater is clean. It is one of the most important tourist destinations in Spain. Surrounded by white beaches and azure seas, Parma boasts beautiful and diverse scenery, as well as a mild and humid climate, making it a well-known tourist destination in Spain. Every first-time visitor to Parma will be attracted by its wide bay curves, long beaches, and majestic buildings. Parma boasts a plethora of captivating attractions that can be enjoyed by families with children, honeymooners, nature enthusiasts, history enthusiasts, cultural enthusiasts, and music lovers alike! Some of the historical buildings in the center of Parma are mostly Gothic style, and these distinctive buildings make the entire city full of vitality and energy.
