Port Introduction
Walvis Bay Port (South African: Walvisbaai, English: Walvis Bay), also known as Walvis Bay, is a port city in the Elongo District of Namibia. history Whale Bay Port was discovered by Portuguese colonizer Bartolomeu Dias on December 8, 1487. In the early 20th century, Namibia (Southwest Africa) was designated as a trusteeship of the League of Nations under the Federation of South Africa. After Namibia gained independence from South Africa in 1990, only Whale Bay Port and Penguin Islands remained outside of Namibia's territory, making it an exclave of South Africa until it officially returned to Namibia in 1994.
