View MorePort Introduction
The full English name of Tanjung Pelepas Port is TANJUNG PELEPAS, also known as MYTPP Port. The throughput of Tanjung Pelepas Port in 2005 was 4177122 TEUs, an increase of 4.2% over the previous year, ranking 19th in the world. Tanjung Pelepas is located at the southern end of the Malaysian Peninsula and is the throat of world shipping. In just 4 years, the container throughput of the port has grown from 0 to 4 million TEUs. Tanjung Pelepas is currently constructing a 9-berth and 10 berth dock, which is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2006. The dock has a length of 3600 meters and a front water depth of 19 meters, which can accommodate large ships of 250000 tons entering and leaving the port. By the end of 2006, the port will introduce new super Panamax shore cranes that can simultaneously lift 40 foot containers. The bridge crane efficiency at Tanjung Pelepas Port has reached 33 times per hour for lifting and unloading. Tanjung Pelepas has developed 40 hectares of land and promoted the development of another port in Malaysia, Callao. Many shipping groups hope to establish a good cooperative relationship with Tanjung Pelepas Port. The Tanjung Pelepas Port (MYTPP), which was officially completed and fully operational on October 10, 1999, is located at the mouth of the Prayut River at the southwest end of the Malaysian Peninsula. It has excellent natural conditions, with a river valley depth of over 15 meters and a navigable channel of 12.6 kilometers long and 250 meters wide. The current PTP port has a considerable scale, equipped with 14 super Panamanian shore cranes and an outward extension distance of 18 container slots, which can meet the berthing operations of the world's largest container ships. The container loading and unloading and port operation management of MYTPP port all adopt modern information technology computer network systems, which are closely connected to various users of the port. The information technology network system synchronizes all information related to port operations with the network communication center at any time, providing real-time and free flowing information services. It provides paperless information transmission between container shipping companies, freight forwarding companies, shipping agencies, port authorities, customs, commodity inspection, environmental sanitation, animal and plant quarantine and other units, ensuring high efficiency, high precision, and high benefits of work. The north-south expressway connected to the port can directly lead to the Thai border, and the 31.5-kilometer port railway is connected to the Malaysian National Railway Hub. The MYTPP port belongs to the Malaysia Free Trade Zone and has 400 acres of land dedicated to container cargo distribution, logistics chain service management, and cargo warehousing. It is the ideal place to carry out container consolidation business, operate international procurement centers, regional logistics distribution centers, and distribution services. The current MYTPP port is not only Malaysia's largest container port, but in the near future, it will also develop into the largest and highest container transportation and transit hub port in Southeast Asia. The operation mode of MYTPP port is flexible and adaptable, catering to the needs of customers. The warehouse is available for sale or lease, and prices and terms can be negotiated face-to-face. MYTPP port also has land leasing for domestic and foreign clients to invest in, design, and construct office buildings and warehouses themselves. In early 2002, the Malaysian government allocated 600 acres of land to MYTPP port specifically for the development of the port container transportation industry. In August 2000, less than a year after its official opening, MYTPP Port successfully formed a strategic partnership with Maersk Line, which transferred almost all of its container transportation and transshipment business, which had been operating in Singapore for many years, to MYTPP Port. Dafei Shipping, headquartered in Marseille, France, and China Shipping, headquartered in Shanghai, China, have also decided to use container transfer services from Malaysian ports. In 2005, the annual container throughput of MYTPP port reached 4.17 million TEUs. The MYTPP port authorities regard ensuring first-class service quality as the primary principle of daily work. The excellent management and dedicated service of the port have received unanimous praise from customers. MYTPP Port has been awarded the "Best Emerging Container Terminal Award" by the world-renowned Lloyd's Register.
