Port Introduction
Hokkaido Commercial Port, Japan. Located in Guangwei Town, south of the Shisheng Branch Hall in the southeast of the road, facing the Pacific Ocean. Outside the port, the sea route is 60 nautical miles northeast of Kushiro Port, 115 nautical miles west of Tomakomaki Port, 147 nautical miles from Baolan Port, 137 nautical miles from the junction of the Karutsu Strait, 199 nautical miles south of Kamaishi Port, and 516 nautical miles from Tokyo Bay; The port is protected by two breakwaters, north and south. The south breakwater extends north from Guangwei Cape and then turns northeast to become the main protective breakwater. Ships enter the port from the northeast direction, and the maximum allowable draft of the waterway is 10 meters. The southern part of the harbor is surrounded by the South Wharf, with three berths along the edge that are 90 meters long and 5.5 meters deep, only for 2000 ton ships to dock. In the central part of the port area, there is Pier 2 as a protruding embankment, with 5000 ton berths on three sides that are 130 meters long and 7.5 meters deep. The northern part is the fishing port area. The authorities plan to build two large protruding piers north of the North Breakwater, which will increase the port's throughput capacity several times, but currently the port's commercial capacity is still limited. The port is still a fishing base.
