Port Introduction

Japanese commercial port. Located in the middle of the coast of Iwate Prefecture, northeast of Honshu, on the west coast of Miyako Bay, east of the port city, facing the Pacific Ocean. To the north is 31 nautical miles from Jiuci Port, 70 nautical miles from Hachinohe Port, 41 nautical miles from Kamaishi Port, and 358 nautical miles from Tokyo Bay. The port area is distributed in the north and south outside the mouth of the Kaiigawa River, and there are no breakwater facilities outside the port due to the strong winds and waves on the Shigeaki Peninsula. The northern port area of Kaiigawa is basically a semi enclosed water area. The northwest coast of Akizaki Port is a fishing port dedicated area, and the southwest is Izaki Port, with three berths. Berths 1 and 2 are 214 meters long and 7.3 meters deep, used for berthing 3000 ton ships. Berth 3 has a water depth of 9 meters and is a 10000 ton berth. The commercial terminal of the port is mainly located south of the Kaiigawa mouth, while the Fujiwara terminal is located in the waters between two piers, with 7 berths. Among them, berths 1, 2, 5, and 6 are of 5000 tons, and berths 3 and 7 at the top of the piers are of over 10000 tons. There are also timber storage yards and timber berths in the south. The port imports timber, apatite, manganese sand, coal, etc., and exports fertilizers, plywood, etc,
