Port Introduction

Located on the north coast of BIOKO Island in the northwest of Equatorial Guinea (full name: The Republic of Equatorial Guinea), adjacent to the southeast side of BONNY Bay. Also known as Santa Isabel Port, it is the largest seaport in Equatorial Guinea. It is the capital and national political and economic center of Equatorial Guinea. The economy is mainly based on agriculture, but food cannot be self-sufficient, and annual grain imports account for 1/4 of the country's total imports. Cocoa is the main export commodity, and Bioko Island is a concentrated production area for cocoa. The main industries include agricultural product processing, wood processing, and automobile repair and maintenance. Transportation is mainly by road, and the international airport at the port has regular flights to destinations such as Douala, Libreville, Moscow, and Madrid. The port has a tropical rainforest climate with prevailing westerly winds. The annual average temperature is about 26 ℃, and the annual average rainfall is about 2000mm. The rainy season is from March to June and from September to November. The average tidal height is 1.83m for high tide and 0.20m for low tide. There are three main berths in the port area, with a shoreline length of 600m and a maximum water depth of 9m. The loading and unloading equipment includes various shore cranes, truck cranes, forklifts, barges, etc., as well as a 152.4mm diameter oil pipeline for loading and unloading. There is also a pier that can accommodate oil tankers with a draft of 8m. The anchorage depth of the large ship is about 17m. The main export goods are coffee, cocoa, palm fruit, bananas, etc., while the imported goods mainly include building materials, machinery, copper, fertilizers, petroleum, and miscellaneous goods.
