Port Introduction
Located on the west bank of the Esmeraldas River estuary on the northwest coast of Ecuador (full name: THE REPUBLIC OF ECUADOR), adjacent to the southeast side of the Pacific Ocean, it is the largest oil port in Ecuador. Ecuador's mineral deposits are mainly composed of oil, with proven reserves of 150 million tons and an annual output of 10 million tons. 50% of it is for export. The output value of oil accounts for 1/4 of the total output value. The oil fields are mainly distributed in the Amazon plain in the northeast, and the crude oil produced is exported directly to Hong Kong through oil pipelines. Hong Kong also has a refinery with an annual output of about 3 million tons. The port has a tropical rainforest climate with prevailing southwest winds. The annual average temperature is 23-25 ℃. The average annual rainfall is about 3000mm, and the rainy season is from December to May of the following year. Hong Kong consists of two main parts: the large harbor basin and the oil port area. The large harbor basin (commercial port) has a coastline of 350 meters and can accommodate two ocean going vessels at the same time, with a maximum draft of 11.3 meters. The oil port area is an offshore berth that can accommodate vessels with a length of 274 meters and a draft of 15.2 meters, with a maximum capacity of 100000 deadweight tons of oil tankers. There are various types of loading and unloading equipment such as mobile cranes, mechanical vehicles, trucks, tugboats, and roll on/roll off facilities, among which the maximum lifting capacity of mobile cranes is 60 tons. The storage area reaches 70000 m ∧<2>. The total length from LAGO AGRIO in the east to Hong Kong is 503km, connected by pipelines, with a maximum transport capacity of 42000 tons on the first day. In addition to oil, the main export goods include bananas and timber, among which oil exports account for about 50% of the total value. Imported goods mainly include machinery, industrial raw materials, and electrical appliances. The main trading partners are the United States, Western Europe, Japan, and other Latin American countries.
