Port Introduction

Guigang Port is located in Guigang City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, along the Yujiang River in the Xijiang River system. It is an important inland port in Guangxi and one of the core ports on the Xijiang Shipping Main Line. Location in Xijiang Shipping The biggest feature of Guigang Port is its reliance on the Xijiang Golden Waterway to form a river sea intermodal transportation channel. The Yujiang River runs through the urban area of Guigang and connects with the main stream of the Xijiang River to the east, making Guigang an important water transportation node connecting the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area in the inland region of Guangxi. The the Pearl River Shipping Plan proposes to continue to improve the capacity of the Xijiang River shipping trunk line, promote the waterway project from Nanning to Guigang, and form the main shipping channel for goods in southwest China to the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. Guigang Port is not a single urban dock, but a port system composed of multiple port areas and operational zones. In historical planning, Maoershan, Luopowan, Wulin, Dongshan and other operational areas are all responsible for different types of port transportation tasks, and are equipped with collection and distribution facilities such as port clearance roads and railway dedicated lines, gradually forming a pattern of coordinated development of ports, industrial parks and cities. Freight and Port Industry The freight structure of Guigang Port is closely related to the industries along the Yangtze River in Guangxi. In addition to traditional bulk cargo transportation, it also serves the transportation of bulk goods such as building materials, timber, renewable resources, energy, and industrial raw materials. The advantages of ports have also promoted the layout of industries along the Yangtze River, with industries such as cement, ceramics, building materials, wood, and new energy gradually gathering along the west bank of the river. Public data shows that the cargo throughput of Guigang Port will exceed 100 million tons in 2020, becoming the first inland river port with an annual cargo throughput of more than 100 million tons in the the Pearl River River system. port development The development focus of Guigang Port is shifting from traditional inland waterway freight to integrated logistics and multimodal transport. Currently, Guigang is promoting the connection between the port and railways, highways, and industrial parks, and is laying out port related industries in advance around the Pinglu Canal navigation. The development plan for 2026 proposes the construction of a 3000 ton waterway, the improvement of a dedicated railway line for port clearance, and the promotion of linkage between the main stream of the Xijiang River and the Pinglu Canal, in order to further provide Guigang with river sea transportation conditions connecting the Beibu Gulf and the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. Therefore, the core value of Guigang Port CNGUG can be summarized as a comprehensive inland port based on the Xijiang shipping trunk line, supported by bulk cargo and port related industries, and connecting Guangxi inland with Guangdong Hong Kong Macao and Beibu Gulf directions. Its port functions are not only reflected in cargo loading and unloading, but also closely related to the industrial layout of the Xijiang Economic Belt and the development of Guangxi's offshore economy.
