Port Introduction

Ports along the central Pacific coast of Chile. When adopting the standard of West Zone 5. The maximum draft is 7.32 meters. The load density of water is 1025. The tidal range is about 1.22 meters. The prevailing southwest wind. Compulsory pilotage. If the berth is occupied or unable to obtain navigation, the vessel should anchor about 400 meters in front of the coal pier, with an orientation of 135 degrees and a water depth of 10.06 meters. Port service facilities: ship repair, small boats, medical care, fresh water, supplies and repatriation, without refueling, dry dock, towing, and sewage discharge. The nearest railway stations are Talcahuano and Concepcion stations, and the nearest airport is Talcahuano/Concepcion. The coal port in the northeast of Coronel Bay is located in the old area of Coronel Port. A severe earthquake left two breakwaters on the shore and destroyed a large warehouse. The coal loading and unloading belt is 407 meters long and was installed in 1942. It is still in use today. The breakwater has been reinforced as needed. When the ship is moored, it should be docked in the appropriate position because the loading boom on the dock is fixed. At present, the maximum allowable draft is 7.32 meters, and 400 tons of coal shavings are loaded per hour, but there may be changes, with an average rate of not less than 350 tons per hour. The loading rate of coal blocks is around 200 tons per hour. The vast majority of the cargo is coal shavings, and coal blocks (50% of the production) are transported by train. The longest pier is 170 meters. There is no tugboat available for mooring, but a mooring motorboat can be used, and 9 220 meter long cables need to be prepared. There are water supply pipes on the dock that can provide fresh water. We can produce some iron and brass castings in Hong Kong, but only accept minor water repairs.
