Port Introduction
Manaus is located about 17 kilometers above the confluence of the Negro River and the Amazon River in the northwest, close to the equator and surrounded by tropical forests. It is a distribution center for agricultural and animal husbandry products in the upper and middle reaches of the Amazon River and the largest port. In 1957, a free trade zone was established, and in 1967 it was changed to a free port, located 1600 kilometers from the sea. The 7000 ton 8-vessel can be traced directly to the Amazon. Output rubber, babassu nuts, hardwood, leather, dried fish, etc. An international airport located in the cultural center and tourist destination of northwest Brazil.
