Recently, the "Elmes" vessel, which was undergoing maintenance at a Turkish shipyard, capsized, resulting in the death of two and injuring several others.


The cause of the vessel's capsizing is still unknown, and relevant authorities have launched an investigation.


The incident occurred at around2:30 p.m. on October 9th, when the ship was being repaired at the Yıldız shipyard in Turkey.


Suddenly the vessel capsized to the left, causing some workers to fall into the sea. Other workers nearby were caught off guard, and some were hit by hatch covers and other heavy components


According to earlier reports, two Ukrainian workers lost their lives in the accident, and several others were injured.


Following the incident, several emergency teams, including medical, firefighters, coast guards, and police, quickly rushed to the scene.


Elmes is a roll-on/roll-off cargo ship registered under the flag of Saintitts and Nevis, built in 1997. The ship is 101.29 meters long, 18.9 meters wide, and has gross tonnage of 5752.
