CMA CGM has signed an agreement with Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP) to develop a $600 million deep-water terminal in Haiphong, northern Vietnam. The project covers the design, construction, and operation of Lach Huyen terminals 7 and 8, with a planned annual capacity of 1.9 million TEUs and operations slated to begin in 2028.

CMA CGM currently operates 29 weekly services across seven ports in Vietnam, and holds joint stakes in Cai Mep Terminal and Vietnam International Container Terminal in Ho Chi Minh City. The new partnership aims to secure long-term capacity in a region experiencing rapid industrial and logistics growth, further strengthening its role in Asia’s supply chain.
